The National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), together with Azule Energy and its partners Sonangol E&P and Sinopec, celebrated the arrival of the vessel FPSO vessel Agogo to Block 15/06, one of the most promising assets offshore Angola. This floating unit represents a key step for the West Central Pole Integrated Project, which focuses on the Agogo and Ndungu fields.
Agogo FPSO production potential and schedule
The Agogo FPSO is designed to reach a maximum capacity of 175,000 barrels per day. Although operations are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025, its early arrival demonstrates efficient execution by operator Azule Energy, which has coordinated the project together with Yinson Productionwhich is in charge of operating the unit.
[post_relacionado]One of the distinctive features of this unit is the incorporation of the first pilot post-combustion carbon capture system in an FPSO. Part of its structure was manufactured in Angolan shipyards, reflecting a concrete commitment to local development and capacity transfer.
Logistics and international cooperation
The FPSO began its journey from Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry’s shipyard in China and made a strategic stop in Namibia. This maneuver allowed replenishment of supplies and crew changeover, highlighting the logistical planning and regional cooperation around the project.
