Petrobras has confirmed a new discovery of oil with no impurities in the Santos Basin pre-salt layer, reaffirming its leadership in deepwater hydrocarbon exploration, reaffirming its leadership. Strategic potential of the Aram block

In it, Petrobras acts as operator with an 80% interest, in partnership with CNPC, which holds the remaining 20%.. The location in ultra-deep waters and the confirmed presence of high-purity hydrocarbons make it one of the most promising areas in the South Atlantic.
Drilling has been completed and, according to Petrobras, electrical profiles, gas traces and fluid sampling support the existence of hydrocarbons. Laboratory analyses are currently being carried out that will allow a more precise characterization of both the reservoirs and the fluid’s properties.
Exploration with a long-term vision
As part of the Discovery Appraisal Plan (PAD), Petrobras and its partners plan to drill two additional wells and conduct a formation test in the same area. This plan, which will be in effect until 2027, will allow for the collection of technical data that will define the region’s commercial potential.
