The University of the West of Scotland ( UWS ) has developed a LaBr3 ( Ce ) radiation detector module, specialized in nuclear radiation monitoring, a tool in the training of professionals and the advancement of clean energy.

The device, designed by Dr. S. Nara Singh Bondili, is notable for its portability and adaptability, allowing its use in high-end laboratories such as CERN and for applications in nuclear astrophysics, medical research, and environmental sensing. These features consolidate its role in the investigation of complex nuclear structures and fundamental reactions in physics.

With a prototype launched in 2021, the project continues to evolve in collaboration with other prestigious universities.
