Bluestream, OEG Energy’s subsea subsidiary, has secured a contract with TenneT for the installation of a new Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system at the SylWin Alpha offshore converter station in Germany. This project will replace the current system, which is experiencing operational failures, ensuring the integrity of the offshore electrical infrastructure.
New anti-corrosion system for the SylWin Alpha station
The contract covers the replacement of the defective ICCP system by removing obsolete cables and debris that interfere with its operation. Prior to installation, Bluestream will conduct multibeam sonar and ROV inspections to assess the condition of the work area and identify potential obstructions.
[post_relacionado]The company will also route and secure submarine cables through a J-tube, install three buoy-mounted ICCP anodes, and ensure their proper distribution throughout the deck structure. Concrete mattresses will be used to stabilize and protect the new cables. The system will then undergo functional testing and a detailed analysis of its operational integrity.
Operation from a specialized support vessel
The work will be carried out from a DP-2 Diving Support Vessel (DSV), equipped with a foot access system and a specialized crew of divers and ROV pilots operating 24/7. The DSV will also feature advanced equipment, including an ROV with multibeam imaging sonar and high-precision handling tools.
