Cheniere Energy, Inc., one of the largest producers and exporters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the United States, has made progress on its Corpus Christi expansion. The company announced in a press release the substantial completion of Train 1 of the Corpus Christi Liquefaction Project , Stage 3 (CCL Stage 3).
With this completion, Bechtel Energy, Cheniere’s strategic engineering and construction partner, has transferred custody of the train to the company, marking the start of large-scale LNG production . This achievement, achieved ahead of schedule and on budget, underscores Cheniere’s commitment to operational excellence.
Corpus Christi Liquefaction Project Train 1
[post_relacionado]Train 1 is the first of seven planned trains in CCL’s Phase 3 project, which aims to increase the Corpus Christi plant ‘s LNG production capacity. With a total capacity of more than 10 million tons per year (tpa) upon completion, this expansion will help meet growing global demand for LNG.
This progress also marks a key step in Cheniere’s global expansion strategy, which is dedicated to ensuring a reliable and efficient supply of LNG worldwide. Jack Fusco, Cheniere’s president and CEO, emphasized that the company remains committed to bringing the remaining Stage 3 trains online safely and efficiently.
The progress of Corpus Christi Phase 3 reflects the successful collaboration between Cheniere and Bechtel, with the project reaching 78.3% completion by the end of January 2025. The Corpus Christi liquefaction plant, one of the largest in the world, is poised to become a benchmark in LNG production, solidifying Cheniere’s position as a leader in the energy sector.
