A group of researchers in China has conducted an experiment using drones to improve artificial snow production in the Kunlun Mountains in Xinjiang. This development, driven by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation ( CASC ), seeks to optimize water resource management in arid areas.

The experiment involved TL-120 drones equipped with long-duration smoke flares, which increase the ability to generate water. During the tests, the team successfully completed high-altitude combustion ignition.
[post_relacionado]The devices, developed by Shaanxi Zhongtian Rocket Technology, included high-precision sensors for positioning, real-time tracking and detailed measurement of the operating area. This ensures efficient and effective application in demanding scenarios.
Beyond supplying water for agriculture, industry and homes, these operations contribute to improving desert ecosystems , increasing vegetation cover and reducing the incidence of dust storms. The Kunlun Mountains, vital for water supply in western China, are now becoming the stage for technological implementation, through smart drones that integrate innovation and sustainability.
