The recent discovery of a super-large uranium deposit in the Jingchuan region of the Ordos Basin has put China at the forefront of strategic mineral exploration. The project, carried out in collaboration with PetroChina Changqing Oilfield, China’s Nuclear Industry Geology Bureau and provincial agencies, marks a breakthrough in locating the first large-scale uranium deposit in an aeolian sandstone environment . Such deposits, rare globally, reinforce the country’s mining potential and respond to its energy self-sufficiency strategy.
