TotalEnergies has announced the discovery of new gas condensate resources at the Harald East Middle Jurassic ( HEMJ-1X ) exploration well in the Danish North Sea, approximately 250 kilometres off the coast of Denmark.

The company reported that the HEMJ-1X well encountered 48 metres of net gas condensate pay in a high-quality formation, which will allow for a quick connection to the Harald platform. Production is expected to start before the end of the year, taking advantage of the existing processing facilities at the Harald and Tyra wells .

As operator of the Danish Underground Consortium, together with its partners BlueNord and Nordsøfonden , TotalEnergies holds a 43.2% stake in the project, contributing to Denmark’s energy industry.
The discovery adds to the company’s efforts in Denmark, where the company manages more than 90% of gas production and is engaged in clean energy initiatives such as carbon storage and wind energy projects.
Furthermore, the company remains committed to sustainable exploration practices, contributing to energy transition objectives in Europe and strengthening its presence in the North Sea hydrocarbon market.
