This move, announced without consultation with ship owners and operators, has raised concerns in the maritime sector.
Criticism over new rules on bulk carrier inspections
INTERCARGO, an organisation representing more than 250 dry bulk companies, stresses that while they support efforts to improve safety and operational quality, major changes such as this require the active participation of all stakeholders . An inclusive process, they say, would help shipping companies gradually adapt to the new demands.
