After three days of intense activities, the XX Oil and Gas Marine Terminal Operators and Monobuoys Conference (SLOM) 2024 (SLOM) 2024 was successfully concluded, leaving a strong impact on the maritime and energy and energy sector in Latin America and the world. The second day was marked by presentations on energy efficiency and emissions management, the impact on the ship-terminal interface, and the implementation of new fuel handling technologies. Presentations explored transition technologies, highlighting the importance of decarbonization in terminal operations and the strategic role of hydrogen and other alternative fuels. The day closed with a coffee break offered by TRANSPETROwhere participants were able to share experiences and make valuable connections.

The third day, September 13, was dedicated to the exploration of energy and sustainability projects. Santiago Ferro from ANCAP presented the ANCAP Group’s energy transition projects, while Ana Reyes and Jaime Collar from IDOM spoke about the strategic combination of hydrogen and marine terminals. The day ended with a panel on oil infrastructure and its conversion to clean energy, moderated by Diego Orono. During the closing ceremony, SLOM’s 20th anniversary was commemorated, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
