Last August 23, Wan Hai Lines held the christening ceremony for its new container ship, the“WAN HAI A17”, at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje, South Korea. This event marks the addition of the tenth vessel in the 13,100 TEU containership series, part of a strategic expansion of Wan Hai Lines’ fleet.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Po-Ting Chen, chairman of Wan Hai Lines, and Mr. SA Choi, vice president of Samsung Heavy Industrieswho underlined the importance of this new vessel in enhancing the company’s capacity and competitiveness. Ms. Chih-Jung Chang performed the christening ritual, bestowing blessings for a safe and successful voyage.
[post_relacionado]The WAN HAI A17, with a length of 335 meters, a beam of 51 meters and a draft of 16 meters, will join the Asia to North America East Coast service known as “AA7”. This vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art engines and environmentally friendly technology, which improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions. In addition, it has obtained “Smart Ship Notation” certification, which allows the use of advanced real-time monitoring systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
In addition to the christening ceremony, the company reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility by making a charitable donation to the local Wish-Harbor organization . This gesture reflects the company’s motto,“We carry, we care,” and its dedication to making a positive contribution to the communities in which it operates and works.
The delivery of the new vessel, scheduled for delivery by the end of August, represents a major step in the modernization of Wan Hai Lines’ fleet, enabling the company to offer more comprehensive and high-quality shipping services to its customers worldwide.
