TMEIC Corporation Americas, a subsidiary of Japan’s TMEIC Corporation, has announced the relocation of headquarters and expansion of a major manufacturing facility in Texas by mid-March 2025 to enhance its operations in the country.

The expansion of its U.S. manufacturing operations, with the construction of a new 144,000-square-foot facility in Brookshire, Texas, dedicated to the production of photovoltaic inverters utility- and industrial-scale photovoltaic inverters.

The company hasvast experience in photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems and has installed more than 50 GW of renewable energy systems globally by July 2024, of which more than 28 GW are in North America. This growth has consolidated TMEIC’s presence in the U.S. market, since 2010. Now, its new headquarters in the Houston Energy Corridor will allow it to continue to drive the renewable energy industry forward with greater proximity to its key customers and partners.
The decision to relocate its headquarters from Roanoke, Virginia, and expand its manufacturing capabilities in Texas aligns with TMEIC’s strategic objectives to strengthen its position in renewable energy technology and increase manufacturing domestically.
The new facility in Brookshire, scheduled to open in October 2024, will be located near TMEIC’s existing plant in Katy, Texas, where uninterruptible power supplies and medium-voltage drives are manufactured. With an initial production capacity of 9 GW per year, this plant will be equipped for expansion based on market demands.
In addition, although the headquarters is moving to Houston, TMEIC will maintain its office in Roanoke, Virginia, where it will continue to focus on the design, development and engineering of advanced automation systems, large AC motor technologies and variable frequency drive systems for multiple industries worldwide.
