In a recent press release, E3 Lithium unveiled plans to build a fully integrated lithium demonstration plant in Alberta, Canada. This project aims to produce battery grade lithium carbonate from brines located in the Leduc deposit.
Canadian lithium demonstration plant
This project builds on the results of the successful direct lithium extraction(DLE) pilot program conducted in 2023. During that period, E3 Lithium evaluated and operated multiple technologies, validating the technical feasibility of its proprietary DLE technology. The data obtained in this program was important to the recently published pre-feasibility study demonstrating the economic viability of lithium projects in Alberta.
[post_relacionado]The new demonstration plant will operate a fully integrated system that will include DLE technology scale-up, as well as purification, concentration and chemical conversion processes. The facility is projected to be a key economic driver for the battery supply chain in Alberta. The company has announced that further details on the design and operation of this demonstration plant will be released in the coming months.
