Turkey has announced plans to deploy an exploration vessel to offshore Somalia to conduct oil and gas exploration. The move comes as part of a hydrocarbon cooperation agreement signed between the two countries, Turkey’s Ministry of Energy reported.

According to Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar,“In late September or early October, the Oruc Reis will sail to Somalia to conduct an extensive seismic analysis, which could take several months.
