This development comes from the British Shadow Robot Company, which has designed a robotic hand with motor agility to “open and close” in just 500 milliseconds and apply a force of 10 newtons with its fingertips. Despite its lesser anthropomorphic similarity, this more robust structure offers greater versatility, allowing the addition of more fingers and rapid replacement of modular components in case of damage.
