The Shareholders’ Meeting of the state hydrocarbons company, Petroperú, announced on Saturday the appointment of the expert Humberto Campodónico, as the new president of its board of directors.
[post_relacionado]Campodónico replaces Mario Contreras, in the context of a renewal of directors, after the resignation of the previous general manager, Hugo Chávez, who resigned amid complaints about mismanagement and other irregularities in the company.
Campodónico Sánchez is an industrial engineer specializing in hydrocarbon economics. He is a professor at the Faculty of Economics of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He was Chairman of the Board of Petroperú between July 2011 and December 2012
He is the author of books on energy and hydrocarbons and numerous articles critical of the neoliberal management of these resources and promotes the widespread use of natural gas produced by the country, a promise made by President Pedro Castillo as a solution to the problem of the continuous lack of fuel.
