The Siemens Gamesa company reached a milestone with its offshore prototype SG 14-222 DD, a wind turbine with which it has managed to produce 359 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable energy over a period of 24 hours.

The record discovered by New Atlas, was made by the SG 14-222 DD mega wind turbine built by the Siemens Gamesa group in Denmark.
Each of its three blades is 108 meters long. It has a nominal power (the energy it can produce per unit of time in optimal conditions) of about 14 MW, which makes it one of the most powerful wind turbines in the world.
According to New Atlas, only two other models are more efficient at this level. The first is the Vestas turbine, which reaches 15 MW. And still ahead, there is the gigantic wind turbine of the Chinese MingYang, which reaches 16 MW.
