The H2med project project continues to advance following the formalization of a joint venture to manage the development of the BarMar underwater hydroproduct, which will link Barcelona to Marseille. The alliance between Enagás Hydrogen Infrastructures(EIH), NaTran and Teréga strengthens cross-border cooperation in clean energy, consolidating the first renewable hydrogen corridor in the European Union.

The new company will be based in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France and will be composed of EIH-Enagás with 50% of the capital, NaTran with 33.3% and Teréga with 16.7%. This structure reflects the balance of the BarMar project, shared between France and Spain, as an essential part of the H2med corridor together with the CelZa section between Portugal and Spain.
[post_relacionado]With the backing of the European Commission, BarMar is established as a strategic project for transporting clean hydrogen to the continent’s main industrial centers. In addition, this network is expected to contribute to covering 10% of European hydrogen consumption by 2030.
The creation of this joint venture represents our commitment and determination to realize this vital energy infrastructure for Europe.
Furthermore, this milestone marks the beginning of a new operational phase that will allow us to face the technical and regulatory challenges, with an integrated team and a common goal, to make H2med a reality.

This project has obtained funding from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency(CINEA), whose funding covers 50% of the current development costs. The resources will be used for engineering studies, marine surveys and environmental assessments, which are prerequisites for permitting.
