Being the world’s second largest oil exporter, Russia has undertaken a project to control oil and gas fields, using the artificial intelligence of seven drones designed by the Zala Aero company.

Referring specifically to Russia; the second largest oil exporter in the world, the country is leading a project to control oil and gas facilities through drones with artificial intelligence, for which it has agreed with Zala Aero Group, also known as A-Level Aerosystems, a company that deploys its productive activity in the development and specialization of unmanned aerial vehicles and is headquartered in Izhevsk, capital of the Republic of Udmurtia, Russia.
Since 2015, Zala Aero has been a member of the JSC Kalashnikov Consortium, an essential part of the Russian State Corporation Rostec and has now won a tender to carry out monitoring tasks for three years at Lukoil-Komi, a specialist extraction company, and for this they will use seven Zala 421 drones 6E, which will detect changes on the ground and track such variations.
With the use of intelligent drones, Russia has the goal of diagnosing gas and oil pipelines, in addition to optimizing monitoring costs, assessing industrial safety and preserving the ecosystem. As additional data, in the first 23 days of August 2021, the oil production of the Russian nation experienced a drop, standing at 10.41 million barrels per day.
