The EstLink 2 power connection between Finland and Estonia is preparing to resume commercial operation on June 25. The repair work on the submarine cablewhich was damaged in December 2024, is progressing rapidly and under favorable sea conditions.
Reopening of EstLink 2 connection
Since May, maintenance work has involved the replacement of approximately one kilometer of the damaged cable. This intervention is the result of close collaboration between the parties involved, including maritime authorities, who have ensured a safe place for the work in an area of intense maritime activity.
[post_relacionado]Once the repair work has been completed, extensive testing will be carried out to validate the correct operation of the electrical connection. Only after this certification, EstLink 2 will be available for commercial power transmission again.
