Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited ( TPREL ), one of the leading renewable energy companies in India, has successfully started operating a 431 MW solar power project in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. Considered one of the most cost-effective projects in India for large-scale solar power production, the project was procured through a competitive bidding process and has become a benchmark for innovation in the country.

The Neemuch Solar Project is spread over an area of 1,635.63 acres and is the first project in India to incorporate advanced technology by combining single axis trackers and bifacial modules.
[post_relacionado]This integration has increased system efficiency by more than 15%, allowing for more consistent power generation during peak hours. In addition, the project has overcome significant challenges, including rocky terrain, transmission line preparation, and the logistical complexities associated with its remote location.
With an estimated offset of 780,300 tonnes of CO₂ over its lifetime, the project helps reduce the region’s carbon footprint and contributes to meeting the country’s climate goals. In addition, the simultaneous commissioning of SCADA ensures optimal performance, while the integration of harmonic filters ensures compliance with WRLDC standards to maintain grid stability.
The 431 MW solar project also has a direct impact on the region’s energy infrastructure by ensuring reliable supply of renewable energy to Western Central Railways and Madhya Pradesh Power Management.

Additional Chief Secretary, Department of New and Renewable Energy, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Manu Srivastava ( IAS ), said, ” This project demonstrates the viability of cost-effective solar energy, and also underlines the potential of sustainable energy solutions to drive India’s green energy transition .”
With the inauguration of this project, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited’s total renewable energy capacity has reached 10.9 GW, with 5.5 GW in various stages of implementation. Its operational capacity has reached 5.4 GW, comprising 4.4 GW of solar power and 1 GW of wind power, establishing Tata Power as one of the leading players in the renewable energy sector at the national level.
